Understanding Tidal Power

What drives the tides, and how can we tap into their power for sustainable energy? Hear from Nick Sargent, a local marine renewables engineer, as he explores how tidal energy can contribute to a greener, more sustainable future.

Nick will talk about past projects at Bristol based Proteus Marine Renewables, highlighting both successes and lessons learned from setbacks.
Current innovations, including the AR1500 and AR1100 tidal turbines, designed for optimal performance and efficiency. Future projects and focusing on reducing costs and scaling up to meet global energy demands.

Nick Sargent is an engineer at Proteus Marine Renewables, specializing in the design, construction, testing, installation, and operation of tidal stream turbines.
